Area Activities
Within a 15 mile radius of Izatys, guests have access to
antique and craft shops, Grand Casino Mille Lacs, trap shooting and hunting preserves,
horse back riding, paved bicycle trails, snowmobile trails, two State Parks, and much
more! Here are a few places of interest: |

Kathio State Park |
| The park has 19 miles of Minnesota's finest cross country and snowmobile trails,
as well as ski and snowshoe rentals, and a modern heated chalet. During the Summer
months there are excellent walking trails. The Kathio Interpretive Center is open on
weekends and includes exhibits showing the natural and human history of the park.

The Mille Lacs Soo Line Trail |
| The Mille Lacs Soo Line Trail is the newest rails to trails project in the state
of Minnesota. The multiple use trail is 18 miles of side by side paved and gravel
trail connecting the towns Isle and Onamia. The trail is the first developed section
of the Soo Line Rail Road bed that will eventually connect Genola, MN to Superior,
WI. The trail provides a scenic tour along beaver ponds, berry patches and mixed
hardwood forests. |

Father Hennepin State Park |
| Near Isle, offering cross country ski trails, a swimming beach, walking trails,
and interpretive programs. |

Mille Lacs Indian Museum |
| Open 10 am - 6 pm Thursday through Saturday; noon to 5 pm Sunday. The new
museum displays a large collection of Ojibwe objects that illuminate the lives of Band
members past and present. Shop in the restored 1930's trading post.

Grand Casino Mille Lacs |
| Located 12 miles north on 169 offers blackjack, slots, video poker etc. Featuring
nightly buffet & casual dining. Casino open 24 hours a day all year long. |
